Whether you're an athlete or the parent of an athlete, you're going to have concerns about your sports performance throughout your athletic career. While it's not fun to have these issues, I have some good news for you.
Almost every athlete has experienced at least of these concerns at some time. So, you're pretty normal.
However, that doesn't mean you have to suffer through them, and this is where I come in.
Hi! For those of you who don't know me, I'm Tarra, and I'm a Mental Skills Coach, Licenced Mental Health Counselor, and competitive athlete. In addition, I'm a United States Air Force veteran, a wife, mother, and reading enthusiast!
In general, my goal is to help athletes perform their best. If you're interested in knowing more about what a Mental Skills Coach is, please check out my past blog here.
My goal for the following few blogs is to introduce some of the common concerns the athletes I work with have had trouble managing. Here's a not so complete list of these topics:
Fear of Injury & Reinjury
Competition Anxiety
Self-Doubt & Confidence
Fear of Failure
Frustration with Progress
Lack of Motivation
Lack of Consistency
Prioritization
Communicating with Coaches
Communicating with Teammates
Knowing your Limits
I'm excited to hear your thoughts and what you would like to learn about. If something you noticed is not on this list or is a general topic you'd like to learn more about, please leave me a comment or contact me via my contact form.
Have a great day!
~ Tarra
